1998 started out with Bill Clinton denying having sexual relations with Monica Lewinsky. In March of that year, Jackal took his first shot of testosterone, the same month Viagra was approved for erectile dysfunction. The 70th Academy Awards also happened in March, with Titanic taking home 11 Oscars and the debut of team Matt Damon and Ben Affleck winning Best Original Screenplay for Good Will Hunting (starring Matt Damon). Will Smith was popular in both the movies and music with Men in Black taking home and Oscar for Best Make-Up and Getting Jiggy With It reaching number 1 on the charts. Alternative hit Pretty Fly for a White Guy by The Offspring hit the charts, the off broadway rock musical Hedwig and the Angry Inch told the story of a transsexual and their botched sex change operation, and PFLAG adopted a transgender inclusion policy making them the first official LGBT organization.
